Si- Primary follows traditions as a fairly standard motherly archetype, the patient wife of an often-unreliable husband and the weary mother of seven boys and an adopted girl. Fe- Sarah is constantly concerned with the safety and well-being of her large family, and she is often fretful and despondent when her sons and daughter are called away by the spirit of dramatic adventure. Ti- Early on in the first book (Magyk), Sarah takes a moment to listen to Sally Mullin's dramatic gossip about the deaths of the Queen and ExtraOrdinary Wizard Alther Mella, disengages from Sally's ramblings, thinks very hard about all of the details that led to young Jenna becoming part of her family... and (correctly) comes to the realization that Jenna is the daughter of the late Queen, the baby princess who was assumed to be dead by Sally and the Castle folk... long before Marcia Overstrand barges into the Heap household to retrieve Jenna before an assassin comes for her. "But you guessed, didn't you?" Ne-Has trouble with engaging with situations as they are when she is under stress, such as when Simon Heap unexpectedly shows up out of the blue in the beginning of the second book (Flyte), forces Jenna onto his horse with him and takes off in a rush. Sarah assumes that everything will be fine if she just patiently waits for Simon to come back with Jenna and stop playing foolish games. But Simon does not return after some time, prompting Sarah and Silas to go seek out Marcia's assistance to resolve the matter.
