Social 7s are the counter type of 7s. They try not to indulge in their gluttony (the sin of 7) and focus on helping and bringing happiness to others to avoid them having negative feelings. For this reason, social 7s can mistype as 2s. However, the key difference between 2s and 7s is that 2s struggle with pride. They give love to get love and and believe that others NEED them. But 7s struggle with gluttony and fail to reign in their positivity, being unable to admit that life is not all sunshines and rainbows. Riley never possessed the generous but self-serving and seductive trait structure of 2. She was more selfless and naive about the world, viewing it through rose-colored glasses. In fact, most episodes in Girl Meets World help Riley mature and realize that life can be unfair and complicated. This reflects the excitement-seeking, negativity-avoiding trait structure of the 7. To be more specific, a prime example is the Season 2 episode “Girl Meets Rileytown” in which Riley is getting bullied. Rather than clinging to friends for love and emotional support or denying that someone could dislike her, Riley escapes to “Rileytown”, a fantasy place in Riley’s head where nothing hurtful or realistic exists. I think this embodies the unhealthy 7w6, specifically the sexual 7 (which I think is Riley’s secondary subtype). It is only when Riley detaches from the distracting, overly-positive safe space in her mind and faces the bully head on that she matures. For those who believe in enneagram integration patterns, this also reflects the healthy 7 integrating to 5, and placing more value on objectivity and fully realizing and informing oneself of the situation he or she is in rather than blinding affixing positivity into it. As for the Social or Self-Preservation 2 voters, there is no way that this girl uses her intellect, helping others, or ambition to receive the love of groups (social 2). And although Riley does have a childlike demeanor and requires the protection of her friends in her friend group, she doesn’t use this innocent, cutesy persona to gain “a universal love from others, as one would love a child”. That’s just who Riley is, and she never manipulatively uses or weaponizes her naturally youthful, jovial personality to get love or attention.

The titular "Girl" looking to make her way in the world. Riley is the eldest child and only daughter of Cory and Topanga, the main characters from Boy Meets World. She has several similarities to her father, from his compassion to his occasional neurotic tendencies.
