Shaiapouf is SP2. Pouf is a representation of Sp2's possessive love. Pouf expresses this possession through Meruem's submission and control, dividing himself between being completely devoted to the king and being extremely manipulative for the king's "good". Pouf frequently bursts into tears, plays the violin to soothe his anxiety, and throws tantrums. This is a classic Sp2 defense mechanism appearing fragile to disarm others and justify his actions. Pouf goes into an emotional crisis whenever he commits something manipulative, as a way of justifying to himself that he is doing this because he loves Meruem. The truth is that Sp2's desire for love makes him extremely jealous when "his partner" shows interest in someone else (Komugi). Sp2 has submissive traits and tends to do things for those he loves, as a way for those people to love him, so when Pouf tries to kill Komugi he feels like he is doing a favor or a "necessary act" for Meruem, even against the king's will. The Sp2 mechanism makes him express love in a controlling way at the same time that he begins to demand love in return, that is, he gives love to receive love. Because it was a possessive act and against the king's wishes, Pouf would receive his "love" through Meruem's emptiness when he lost the only person he loved. When Pouf and Youpi revive Meruem, he loses his memories, which for Pouf was wonderful. Without the king remembering Komugi, Pouf no longer needed internal justifications to kill Komugi, but rather to kill her to prevent the king from deviating from Pouf's will. When Sp2 no longer has to justify himself, he simply acts as a false "protector", almost like a controlling mother protecting her child while the child trusts her completely.
