I find typing such a genuinely selfless character who lives in service of others as a self preservation two due to "conforming to ideas of femninity" redundant at best. When her character arc revolved around over-coming playing by the roles imposed upon her by the Ushiromiya family and find her true and real voice instead of over-compliance to the duties forced onto her. Which are all easily Nine core themes when taking into account how self preservation twos act in accordance to their own desires first and foremost (even if it's covert—it doesn't take away their sense of entitlement) "Search for love" is a theme common in both types, I find it inconsistent to apply this trait only to Self Preservation Twos when Sexual Nines are equally concerned with emotional bonds, search for love, fear of abandonment, and rejection. These are not traits exclusive to the heart triad. "The sexual E9 believes that he exists only through what he does, and not simply because he is." This is what I would define as the point of comparison within both types. Shannon exists because she does for others, because she's empathetic, because she's a voice of reason for what is right, because she is unimposing and patient, she waits and is accepting of life void of passion for herself until her last moments (in comparison to Kannon, who is actually eager to prove himself—the actual heart type) Shannon's style of interaction or behaviour is not transactional (give to get) , privileged, demanding (asking for nurturing from the other) , self indulging, or egocentric (all core self preservation two traits). Shannon exists to harmonize and be an embodiment of innocence, and there is a reason Beatrice mocks her docility and naivety of a character since she deems her as someone with no voice of her own.
