(2025) Why Sophie is SP9 SLI > SP5/E5 ILI There are actually a lot of misconceptions between E5 and E9. The simplest difference between them is their center of intelligence, E5 is a Head type, while E9 is a Gut type. Sophie, as a character, may appear rational and thoughtful, but that doesn't automatically make her an E5. Throughout the series, Sophie's main motivation is to maintain peace and harmony, which aligns much more with E9. Take, for example, when Akari first comes to live with her. Sophie feels uncomfortable, that reaction comes from her core 9 nature. Sure, an E5 might react similarly, but the motivation behind it is different. If Sophie were a core 5, specifically SP5, she would be bothered by Akari's presence only because Akari disrupts the life or plans she has already arranged, not because of Akari's presence itself. So, if Akari were around but didn't interfere with what Sophie had prepared, Sophie (as a 5) wouldn't mind as long as Akari didn't intrude. Furthermore, Sophie is clearly Si-base (SLI), not Ni-base (ILI). It's very apparent that she values comfort and stability (Si) over perception of time (Ni).
