I, personally don't think he's sx4. sp/sx seems like a more realistic placement for him. The whole reason his relationship ended was because he prioritized talent and music for himself and others, despite the relationship. He focused on improving a craft of physical stability, and reserved passion. Externally, he was quiet, but violin was a way to share passion in a reserved manner. He chose sp (which can, in many sp dom cases, lead to protection over other individuals but primarily in the realm of sp) over sx in the end, despite being devastated, and pushed Akiko away. He saw that neither of them could develop their talents and Akiko was losing drive for violin, trying to keep up with Ugetsu, hence why Ugetsu broke up with him; to preserve the violin playing any physical outlet of preservation and silent passion. During the breakup, Ugetsu was struck by sadness; His response doesn’t resemble the more externally confrontational/angry presentation commonly associated with sx4. Sp/sx are the type that typically seem unaffected losing those they don't care about much (they can jump from relationship without much care and have the tendency to seek relationships but not understand what exactly they want- or utilize whatever they can to maintain control), but extremely sad after losing pillars in their life. He also tends to act more stoic or sunny with some slight issues with anger in interpersonal relationships, which tends to be more representative of sp/sx. Based on everything he's done, I relate to him A LOT. A lot of my priorities and actions are very similar as well as my expression, and I am currently typed as sp/sx4. I'd say sp/sx4w3 is very fitting for him. I would also like to conclude that his physics is somewhat high (probably second placement because he has skipped playing music before, or offered such for others intermittently), and he's likely 1E (I mean, he's ISFP e4). So: EFVL EFLV Both seem like ok choices imo, but since his grief comes from past decisions and will (choosing to protect his and other's volition over sx or connection - again, pretty sp/sx), EFVL seems like a logical placement. Also, ISFP is a VERY logical placement for him. His focus is on music and se, yet his values are based in that (fi), which can be representative of fi se. The dominant function tends to be the typical, daily experience, while the secondary is where a lot of problems come from. It can be what someone is passionate about utilizing to fix issues and what issues are rooted in. Then the third and first can work together to solve the second function (which is usually external and internal, so it can occur in others and oneself). He typically "solves se" while using his normal fi baseline with his ni to come up with conclusions. And his se can be neglected under stress, if he hyperfocuses on his fi ni. As for te, he rarely uses it to solve things, and typically presents as a te > ti user. ISFP sp/sx4w5 EFVL <-my conclusion he's also probably a 458.
