I think Gibsie is ENFP 7w8 rather than ESTP 7w8. It’s not just because he’s loud, crazy or talks a lot, because an ESTP 7w8 can definitely be like that too. For me, the difference is how his mind works. ESTPs are usually more focused on what’s happening right now: “What can I do? Let’s do it and see what happens.” Gibsie feels more like his brain is constantly jumping from one idea to another. He makes a joke, gets another idea from it, changes the topic, creates some crazy scenario and just keeps going. That feels much more like Ne (ENFP). His 7w8 also makes him look more like an ESTP because the 7 gives him the chaos, fun and need for stimulation, while the 8 wing makes him more aggressive, provocative and fearless. So to me, Gibsie’s craziness is not just about action—it’s mentally chaotic and constantly idea-generating, which is why I see him as ENFP 7w8. My boyfriend is an ESTP 7w8 too, so I know what an ESTP 7w8 can look like...I just see Gibsie’s chaos as more mentally and verbally driven, which makes me lean ENFP 7w8.
