背景
He was a famous Spanish painter within expressionism. He trained at the School of Fine Arts in Seville, where he stood out for his great artistic talent, although he was considered by some of his teachers to be extravagant because of his tendency to break out of conventional classical molds. As of 1946 he gained fame as a scandalous painter, some of his works were considered by the religious authority to be obscene and disrespectful of morals, although he always enjoyed protectors and friends who held him in high regard. It is said that he was invited to paint Francisco Franco, a military man and dictator of Spain.
