I finished his route (romantic end), and I think it SCREAMS enneagram 3 rather than 7. Like, his whole personality is built on his inferiority complex to Chevalier. Everyone was praising Chevalier for being such a genius left and right, and did not pay attention to Clavis. He has zero self-confidence because Chevalier does better in everything, and his excessive boasting is just a cover for it (as MC noticed). So Clavis tries, by Chevalier's advice, to find something Chevalier can never do. One of these ways is his whole life philosophy of putting individual people's lives first because it's something opposite to Chevalier's kingdom priority. He says he wants to be loved by everyone, and he means it. Likewise, his pranks are not simply an amusement, but a way to satisfy his desire of "leaving a deep impression on every person he met" - which MC also points out. Yes, Clavis hides all his feelings behind the smile and projects a carefree, pleasure-loving image, which gives him the appearance of E7. But one of his largest secrets was his room, which shows he actually is earnest, hardworking, and serious, and has to put a lot of effort into everything. And Clavis was so protective over it to the point that everyone thought he was hiding some proof of the kingdom's betrayal. He's also extremely embarrassed about showing any other weakness, like low alcohol tolerance. Besides, he tells MC in the end that he is traumatized by love as his mother loved him... but only second to her close friend, the queen, as she committed suicide after her death. Clavis explains that the reason he does not have a partner is that he always puts women through hell and makes them doubt him because he doesn't believe they will truly make him a priority. On the other hand, I don't see a lot of real avoidance of negativity - Clavis tasted failure and still perseveres, and he never ran away from his responsibilities. So all in all I think he's E3 and not E7.

Clavis loves amusement above all else. Some adore him, some hate him, but whatever you do, don't trust him. He'll do anything to have fun, and his biggest source of amusement is Chevalier. He's definitely up to something, but what could it be?
