SP 9 Stanley “Self-Preservation Nine: “Appetite” – Instead of feeling an ongoing connection to their feelings, desires, and power, Self-Preservation Nines focus on merging with physical comforts and routine activities, such as eating, sleeping, reading, or doing crossword puzzles. SP Nines are practical, concrete people who focus on everyday things rather than abstractions.” Stanley is one member of the office who, the majority of the time, seamlessly “merges” into the background. Enneagram Eights are more driven towards intensity, Stanley had a whole interview monologue about wanting to be put on jury duty simply for the comforts of air conditioning, seating and free food. 😭 Genuinely can’t see anybody but a nine desiring something this boring, just for the comfort of it. For those voting Stanley as an 8, just remember that 9 is also a part of the anger triad, and self preservations 9s specifically can sometimes be mistaken for 8s. Stanley’s anger pops out a few times during the show, like him screaming at Michael, which is definitely memorable. 💀 As for the enneagram six voters, I don’t see evidence of Stanley being a part of the Fear triad (5, 6, 7). It seems much more clear to me that he’s a part of the anger triad (1, 8, 9).
