Pinkie Pie is definitely E2 > E7. Although she is fun-loving, positive, and energetic, that’s more her Ne than E7. Plus, E2 and E7 are both positive types, and she does have an E7 fix. Despite this, her core motivations don’t seem to be E7’s. She’s not really worried about avoiding pain, rather her friends leaving her or others not appreciating her. She can be quite aggressive in how much she needs love and appreciation from others, which indicates her struggles with pride. Here are some examples of where I see E2: -Her whole thing with throwing parties is literally E2 AF. She loves hosting parties and showing people she cares about them, not to mention this is the image she builds around herself, as shown in a later episode. -When her friends wouldn’t come to her party, she became extremely suspicious and then depressed that they were abandoning her and did not want to be her friend anymore. This is a perfect example of how E2 needs to know their friends appreciate them. -The cloning episode is a good example of how being E2 with a 7 fix can manifest poorly. When all friends wanted her to do things with them, she literally cloned herself because she couldn’t stand the idea of any of them doing anything without her. While this could be interpreted as gluttony, I really don’t think she was trying to avoid pain or negative emotions here. She was more trying to avoid missing out on being with her friends. That being said, she is still a 7 fix, so it does make sense if those struggles will manifest as well! -When the mule first came to town and disliked her, she became obsessed with making him like her because she can’t comprehend someone disliking her. This is literally a peak example of E2’s pride in their lovable image. -When the other party pony came to town and others were enraptured by him, she became upset that people didn’t appreciate her parties anymore and obsessively tried to prove that she was the better party pony to regain their appreciation. This really showed that the true motivation for throwing parties was E2, not E7. An E7 would’ve loved experiencing new and better parties because they’ll take anything that allows them to avoid pain. However, Pinkie’s E2 leads her to focus on how this is taking the attention away from her own parties, making her feel like she doesn’t have an identity anymore, because that’s what her whole image was.
