"I hold a guitar like a plumber holds a hammer." There's no denying guitar is his passion and greatest talent. It's the sort of obsession that's so typical of ISTP. He even stepped down from fame to keep his passion his own. That being said his songwriting shows a fair bit of Ni imagery, lots of archetypal scenarios and characters. So he could be an INFJ, but to be honest he seems more like an ISTP with a soft heart. Shocking, I know. He knows his weakness with Fe and makes sure it doesn't ruin his happiness and craft.

Mark Freuder Knopfler OBE (/ˈnɒpflər/ NOP-flər; born 12 August 1949) is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist, record producer, and film score composer. He was the lead guitarist, lead singer, and songwriter for the rock band Dire Straits, which he co-founded with his younger brother, David Knopfler, in 1977. He was born in Glasgow , Scotland and raised near Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
