--Arguments for Se inf versus Se blind. All these years of martial art have allowed him to recognize his Se inf. He displayed so much Se in his final moments, showing how he finally gained access to his inferior function. It really wasn't easy but at the end of the day he was able to do so, because it was his inferior function. At one point he's bewildered by the fact that Kiriyama takes two seconds to mimick his moves while it took him all his life to find the way to Se. And that's only natural because Kiriyama has Se as his adult function. But for the people typing him INFP, remember that INFPs are Se blind. And, yeah, he did a lot of martial arts and self development but no amount would have been enough for him to get in touch with his blind function. Let alone control it. Especially since he was still in high school. --Arguments for Ni-Fe versus Fi-Ne: Also, I don't really see Fi dom. The doubt he expressed wasn't a Fi-Ne doubt. It wasn't that he was taking in all of the possibilities and perspectives for his Fi to evolve into something else, resulting in doubt. He only felt doubt because this very peculiar view he cast on the world was something he obtained though Ni-Fe, not Fi-Ne. From a very young age, thanks to Ni dom, he was able to understand that violence wasn't the answer. He was able to understand the pattern of violence and hatred coming from others and he didn't buy into it. He didn't want to "need it", "to like it", specifically because he understood that this was what kept others going. This vision was brought by observation and understanding of others, not a strong and internal feeling like Fi. And repeatedly, he couldn't face peer pressure. He didn't have enough self resolve and confidence because this belief didn't come from Fi, but from Ni. And the main reason he would still believe in it was others, such as Takako. He understood what Takako truly wanted; not for him to buy into what others were telling him to be, but for him to gain self resolve. He got into martial arts thanks to Takako, not thanks to himself. His belief was also entertained by the teachings of martial arts, and then, it evolved and strengthened again thanks to Kayoko. But my point is that fundamentally, most of what he believed in didn't come from himself. His Ni dom coupled with his Fe aux was extremely important for him to understand how the world worked around him. But then, whether he would keep struggling against peer pressure or keep on believing in his intuition depended entirely on Fe. It depended entirely on others. Fortunately, he was a healthy guy, and the people he met were good people with whom he had deep relationships, and therefore he was able to keep on believing in his intuition and in what he observed from the beginning. (Indeed, martial arts were both related to his Ni and Se inf. All his life he learned to grow from Ni dom in order to reach Se inf).
