Flowery seems to see associate love and competence, and pitying how he's "a useless flower" after him being defeated by The Knight. This reveals a particular aspect of the SO2: "[...] The buried fear is that, if he can't, he will become what he is most afraid of being: useless." Additionally, the E2's fixation of Self-Abundance and "the belief that the E2 inherently has a lot of love and needs to give it to others to become indispensable and central in the lives' of others." is aligned to both the fear of uselessness said before and the Idea that his love and the way he challenges the Fun Gang's intentions based on his will to sustain "a cycle of love" for Asgore. Even though competency was brought into this, he doesn't fit E3's concept of Vanity as he doesn't struggle with his self-image as an E3 would do.
