Okay, I totally see where all the INTP voters are coming from. But a few things: 1. As someone else pointed out, we’re in Ryland’s head the whole time. So of course his Ti is gonna show. 2. It’s written by an INTP. So obviously some of the author’s traits are gonna come out. 3. His enthusiasm in talking to Rocky so often really signals extroversion… 4. The fact that he worked so hard to save Earth? He was doing it all “for the kids”, even if he didn’t want to die in space? His Fe is definitely tertiary, not inferior. 5. It’s hard to explain to anyone who isn’t an Ne dom, but the way his thought process works and he processes info… Trust the ENTP, this is an Ne dom. 6. ENTPs are typically pretty introverted for an extroverted type, leading many to believe that we’re introverts. So Ryland’s apparent introversion could just be standard ENTP behavior. 7. Early on? With his friends literally dead in their beds and him feeling the wave of emotion followed by immediate shutdown? That’s a prime example of exactly how my Ti will keep Fe in check, as well as a sign of a much-ignored Fi seventh function. 8. “I’m going to die. And I’m going to die alone.” If this doesn’t signal both extroversion and a somewhat suppressed 7th Fi function- Also, he’s a middle school science teacher. And he liked his job. Because of the kids. Again, that not only signals tertiary Fe, but extroversion. 9. I know I keep coming back to this, but especially really early on, Fe really does show. And a lot of it, too, leading me to believe Ryland has tertiary rather than inferior Fe. All that to say, between the sheer amount of people-focusing he does and the strength of his Fe, he’s definitely an ENTP.
