It can act as if it were he is superior to others and expect preferential treatment, becoming blatant in his expectation of being pampered and having a tantrum if he doesn't get what he wants. *His logic is: ‘I give and do a lot for others; therefore I deserve special treatment.’” 💖 —Glinda lives by this sentiment, showing a strong sense of entitlement stemming from a feeling of helping others. For example, after Madame Morrible declines her request to study magic, she has a tantrum because she doesn’t get what she wants, acting dramatic over not getting her way. Though she has no talent, she feels she deserves to study magic because she believes herself to be a very generous and kind person, even if her sense of both attributes are warped. In addition, when she is forced to room with Elphaba, she mopes about her situation, believing she deserves a private suite. She thinks she should have more than Elphaba because she sees her sharing a room with Elphaba as an act of great generosity. She is even taken aback that Elphaba doesn’t seem grateful or appreciative of what Glinda perceives as being helpful and generous. ———————————————————————— 💖“The conservation E2 has been the whim of mom or dad, the eternal child who continues to seek the favor of their elders.”💖 —Glinda values heavily the opinions of her close superiors, especially Madame Morrible. Throughout the film, she seeks to please Madame Morrible to learn from her because of her interest in magic and pleasing those of higher standing. She tries to use flattery towards Madame Morrible, which fails. However, she is grateful when Elphaba helps her get into Madame Morrible’s class and fears losing that privilege of learning magic. Thus, later in the movie, when she is faced with the decision of leaving with Elphaba or staying with Madame Morrible and the Wizard, she decides to say farewell to Elphaba because she doesn’t want to lose the relationships she has taken time to build with her elders and the opportunities that arise from them. She would rather support the evil in power than stand up to it. This highlights her respect for her elders in order to stand out. ———————————————————————— 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲! 🫶🌷🫧✨ ————————————————————————
