don’t feel like the government needs to be involved with my personal relationships, or anyone’s really. it’s outdated. divorce is incredibly common, but i think a lot of the time the divorcing process is more stressful on people than actually leaving/being left. if you’re gonna be with someone, be with someone. if you think you need a ceremony, do a ceremony. being someone’s partner doesn’t need a validation stamp from a government official to be a long term or meaningful thing. that’s just my take on it.
