SO7 in particular is described as predetermining their social activities in order to soothe their social insecurities and having an elevated image of themself which they want others to admire. She constantly distracts herself from her essence and true feelings, instead putting all her focus on the outside world and specifically other people (namely the Camp Fam and her family). This brings me to my point about her being a SO9. Sammy's focus primarily revolves around her engagement and belonging in groups. According to Naranjo, "The social E9 converges with the needs and desires of the group, as well as with its values and ideals. The disconnection or lack of bond with self is replaced by the bonds he establishes with others...Thus, the lack of interiority of the social E9 crystallizes in a compulsive doing for others...In this sense, excessive doing can be considered both a consequence of the loss of being and a defense mechanism to drug oneself and maintain a high level of disconnection.” This perfectly describes Sammy's behavior, especially in Chaos Theory. Instead of confronting her actual feelings and needs, she compulsively does anything and everything for others. A good example of this is in Chaos Theory when Darius and Ben show up at her house, and she does everything to avoid talking about Brooklyn, instead focusing on cooking for them and making them feel at home. It's also worth mentioning that much of her pain in Chaos Theory revolves around her alienation from her family, a group that she depended on for much of her identity. In conclusion, Sammy's identity and motivations revolve around her group relationships. She works hard for the group to ignore her feelings and to feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
