This should be my favorite character in the whole book, I can't help but shed tears for her. Some personal opinions, I think Nancy may not love Sikes as much. At least that kind of love is very vague, unable to distinguish between familiarity with someone or obsession with the only conscience she believes can be held. I think she went to love to prove that her human virtues have not been lost, and also because her nature is to help others of the same kind. And Sikes is the only object she can project this emotion onto. I also think she didn't betray those thieves because she was already of the same kind as them. She couldn't send the same person to die tragically, just like animals can't bear to see their own kind die, and people can't bear to see their own kind suffer. The common sympathy at the bottom is the same, which reminds me of some of Rousseau's views in "Pity is a natural sentiment". This can also be considered a sense of responsibility and her inherent kindness in helping others, just like how she saved Oliver not because that child must be kind and not assimilated into a thief. This act of redeeming herself is not entirely selfish; I think it's closer to proving her existence as a "human". And this sentiment still originates from an altruistic purpose as well. Very obvious Fe. Also, I don't think she's unwilling to do good, but she believes her morality doesn't allow it. She couldn't deny her past as a thief, she couldn't deny her origins, pretending to have always been a perfect good person. From her helpful kindness and strong moral requirements, and the portents of death and the end, Fe Ni is very evident.
