Robert is shown to have a mellow yet jittery disposition, one that makes others wonder how someone like him would ever be chosen for such a competition. His ‘killing story’ that landed him in the Life Game involved university bullying. As a student, Robert was terrorised by an aggressive flatmate of his who would ridicule and beat him for sadistic pleasure, to the point where one time, Robert’s vision was worsened by the injuries. As revenge, Robert spiked this flatmate’s drink on a night out with a drug concoction, leading to their accidental death. To avoid punishment, he was forced to play "The Life Game". Robert’s defining features are his nice demeanour, anxiety, and a small penchant for analysis. He spends most of his time during the game forming deep connections with other contenders and having his analysis-based anxiety validated by how some of these people end up scheming against him.
