ARGUMENT FOR ESFP Along my argument, I will be analyzing the behaviors that she displays, and her song, which is the only worded communication she's ever made in the show. THE SONG: "Pain and regret and frustration and sadness Misery, turmoil, and anger and madness The smell of the garbage, the taste of despair These simple things leave me walking on air Toothache and heartburn and bad halitosis Hay fever, bunions, and deep vein thrombosis A trip to the dentist, the sound of the drill These are the things that will give me a thrill When the milk spills, when your dog's ill When all hope takes flight When everyone else feels incredibly sad, my world fills with pure delight When you slip up, when you trip up When you stub your toe I point and I cackle I clap and I laugh And happiness starts to flow" SE USER, NO TRACE OF SI-NE AXIS She's entirely focused on the momentary pleasure she gets from her evil activities. She loves observing her surroundings to figure out what actions she should take to cause harm. She doesn't care about the reason beneath the reality, she perceives things as they are and takes action abruptly. She is interested in the intensity of what happens(Se), not the collectible fact of what happens(Si). She's interested in testing out the highest pitch of reality(Se), rather than testing out multiple frequencies across many possibilities of reality(Ne). Let's analyze the song on the basis of her Se use: In the song, there is an overemphasis in the depiction of physical, concrete qualities. Smell, sound, ache. She only likes things that she can physically observe at the moment. The lines "When you slip up, when you trip up / When you stub your toe / I point and I cackle / I clap and I laugh" are all about her sensory reaction to others' sensory information. NOT A HIGH TE USER She isn't methodical and pragmatic like Te types are, nor is her thought process based on any objective point of reference. She is the opportunistic type who lives in the moment, not one who utilizes a logical system to come up with solutions. Her character is personalized by her profound excitement of external stimulation, most of which are initiated by herself. She is purely an external perception type who processes sensory information as it is, without deviating from reality. SIGNS OF FI To quote her husband, "Margaret is, and always will be, a mystery. Nothing happened in her life to justify the way she is. Some people aren't looking for anything logical; they can't be bought, reasoned, or negotiated with. Sometimes man just wants to watch the world burn". Her manufacturer tag read "Made in the fiery pits of the underworld", and the sole episode that centers her is named "The Wicked". Basically, Margaret has been born this way, there's no reasoning that explains her personality; she's the way she just is. Fi dreams of an ideal world to escape to, in the face of a harsh reality that doesn't suit its individual needs. Possibly, Margaret's ideal world might be one where she brings suffering to others and gets to watch everyone suffer, rather than the conventional utopia full of peace and serenity that Fi users are traditionally affiliated with. However, because she was made in the fiery pits of the underworld, I guess it makes sense that her understanding of an utopia contrasts that of ours. Let's analyze her song on the basis of her Fi use= Aside from depicting her favorite sensory activities, the song also emphasizes her feelings. The line "When everyone else feels incredibly sad, my world fills with pure delight" and the lines "When you stub your toe, I clap and I laugh and happiness starts to flow" depict the high significance that is attached to her emotions. The formula is simple: she does these things because they make her feel intensely happy. When she sings "my world fills with pure delight", "my world" corresponds to her evil utopia that she escapes to in order to feel happy, as a Fi user who escapes to her own fantasy. Margaret knows what makes her happy, so she goes out there and makes herself happy. The only reference is her own, pure emotions and nothing else. She doesn't have any agenda or ideology that Te-dom villains usually come forward with, she just likes doing evil things without a care in the world.
