sorry if this isnt super in depth its really late :P Jasper seems like the kinda guy who works intentionally veiled in mystery, letting the concept of him linger far before actually showing up (probably because he too knew his appearance would be underwhelming). He also seems like someone who wants to eliminate as much margin for error as possible, considering he had 2 backup plans during the actual fight and multiple times made moves to whittle down travis' mental state by either having people in his life killed or pretending to. If i remember correctly jasper also tries to send some guys to kill travis but that doesnt work out, and then he has a guy try to frame travis (also doesnt work out), showing that he is adaptable if he is given time to prepare his next move. He wanted the fight to be as far in his favor as possible, not forgetting why he was fighting but certainly taking a more intellectual approach to getting revenge. In the third phase beginning cutscene Travis mentions Batt being angry (basically spitting his own words back at him) and taking it as true Jasper is breaking down the further we get into fighting him, likely because he is realising that no matter how much prior prep he did, he is still doomed to fail at the one goal he has left in life. I wonder if taking over as ceo and doing all of the Santa Deatroy conquest didnt even mean anything to him, if to him it just meant having more opportunities to control his environment and get revenge in his hyper-specific vision of what it means to enact poetic justice. Maybe he is so composed when we first meet him because he thinks his plan for winning will go off smoothly, and as we whittle down all of his backups he gets more and more anxious and thus more extravagant to mask his fear of the fact hes losing control of the circumstances and thus losing his vision of poetic revenge ok goodnight
