Trent on Real Madrid's tumultuous journey to the UCL final: "It's an incredible story but I always strip it back to 90 minutes of football. It's no different from the first game of the season against Norwich away. It's the same rules, the same objective." Very strong Ti. He cares less about the empirical certainties of objects (Te) and more about the theoretical commonalities between them. The mess of facts in reality are manifesting of ideal objects and cleaner principles in the mind, consequently, objects are viewed as being more similar in nature than they really are. Like Ji doms, Trent is also very idealistic and his ideational bias (Ti) is present in the way he views football: "I can still improve on everything. We never complete football and I will never be the perfect footballer. The aim is to be as close to perfection as you can". His perfectionism is a product of Ti idealism. Ti/Fe assumes people are cut from the same cloth, so even if inferior, the premise is still there. His inf Fe can mostly be seen in his repressed sentimentality when making judgements, for example, note how technical he is when asked about an emotional moment for him: "The UCL final loss was our biggest lesson as a team. We got taught exactly how to win a game, how to win trophies. If you look at our run to that final, we didn't really win games. We just outscored the opposition. There's a difference because a win is gathering control of the game. You know exactly how to win the game and you execute it. That's very different to just outscoring the opposition and there's no real control." In this next quote, he deduces his feelings after explaining the collective's (Fe): "I think every player feels like they deserve to play every game in their mind. That's just the belief that most professional athletes will have. So of course I have that." It's important to mention that thinking dominants aren't emotionless and can in fact be very emotional, but they might be annoyed by these feelings since they impair their judgements ("I was very emotional. I'd get angry a lot, and then it would impact my game. I wasn't thinking rationally"). Another thing that shows how strong his Ti is, it's his curiosity and interest in understanding how things work. For instance: "The mentality of someone doing something on their own intrigues me. I want to know how that would feel. You have a team which plays a big part but you get into that car alone. The mistakes are on you, the wins are on you. The highs would be better than a team sport because all the focus is on you. But the lows would be even lower. I definitely want to know how all that feels.” His Ti concepts are expanded by Ne extrapolation instead of Se experiences. He seems to experience football kinda theoretically which wouldn't be the case for a high Se user: "I never play the position. I play the game. You play the positions, you have limitations on you, you're playing with shackles on." His perfectionism is product of Ti, but also from Ne/Si axis, with Ne tentativeness and its need to consider several scenarios plus Si meticulousness. "I play the game at my own pace and if I need a little more time to find the right option, I'll do that. The main thing for me is I always feel I can see other can't see. And the more you can see the more options you have. I would say being able to judge the right option, and which one hurts the opposition the most, is something I've got that other people don't have." Trent doesn't get stuck on concrete information, but rather worries about future projections by considering different possibilities equally (Ne>Ni). His perceptions of reality are chromatic and tentative because of this. "You look at your Real Madrids, those kind of teams, the best teams in the world, they have that expectation ln them. You reach the semi-final of the UCL every season, no matter what. We should be demanding that from ourselves. Because you know, who knows how long it's going to last?" "People get caught in the here and now. For me, it's not about whether I'm the best right now or whether I was the best last year. It's about whether, in 15, 20 years' time, will my name be remembered?" With this in mind, I think INTP is the most likely option, since he seems to favor Ne/Si over Se/Ni, definitely a Ti dom though.
