The "Analysis" they make are based more on how they see them, more than their actual process. And are made by the students who aren't "expert", so i do question their validity. In Alex case, she may seem "imaginative" as she does see things no other see, but she doesn't seem an "Ne-user" but she rarely seem enthralled by ideas, like a Ne-user should, and more "guided" by them. One of the thing she's good at, that other that others can't really see is reading people. And her decisions are overly based on that, to be honest. She believes Elias as she, rightfully, judged his emotion to be correct. I think she's more like an INFJ. What guided her to enter Quantico isn't coolness, ideas, ideals, or so. It's her plan to know more about her father, as to judge what her actions did to other people.
