Te > Fe Why Fe dom? Because she’s emotional and caring? After the first twenty minutes Veronica and Seth fall in love and nearly every scene is spent with them, plus I think anyone’s going to be a “feeler” when they’re partner is turning into a monstrous fly-human hybrid and they’re pregnant with that hybrids offspring. I get she has the ESFJ vibe, after all ESTJ and ESFJ share the same perceiving functions. I think it’s best to analyse Veronica’s character in its most raw state, that being before her and Seth fall in love. In around the first twenty minutes, from the start Veronica doesn’t show the lively, accommodating traits of a Fe dom. instead she’s blunt, goal oriented, and speaks to Seth in a very straight to the point way. Sure, maybe Seth had been overwhelming prior to when the film begins with them talking, but I think that’s unlikely for Seth. The scene that sold me on the ESTJ vote is when Seth showcases the tele-pods to her, here she’s offered a choice of what to prioritise between the two most important things in front of her, the machine or the person behind the machine. She begins to ask a serious of questions like “How have you managed to keep this quiet” “how could you do this alone” and the last being “and the money? Bartok science industries finances this” notice how all of her questions are regarding the tele-pods and not the person behind them? You could argue her asking Seth how he managed to do it alone isn’t, but based on her tone, she was wondering how someone had the skill and resources to manufacture something to that degree alone, not how the process of creating it made Seth feel. If she were a Fe dom her questions would’ve been more like “What does this project mean for you” or “How has working on this solo made you feel” Te doms are interested in systems that people utilise, Fe doms are interested in the people that utilise those systems. Veronica shows a clear preference for Te here, and this same behaviour shines through a couple scenes later. If this scene is a metaphor for Fe Vs Te, then the restaurant scene is a metaphor for Ti Vs Te. Seth takes Veronica on a date to a restaurant to discuss his project, and to convince her to not publish the news yet. Seth argues it’s not finished on his own terms yet, and therefore isn’t ready, to which Veronica says “Seems to work okay” showing that her logic is as long as it works and can be utilised in the external world, it’s ready. Seth continues convincing Veronica that the project needs to be perfected before it can be published, Seth priorities the understanding of logic (Ti) whereas Veronica priorities the utility of logic (Te) “I think the world should know about it know, and I think I should be the one to tell it” This scene is interesting because I think Seth is most likely an INTP, therefore this scene shows the two sides of the same coin duality of opposing thinking dominant types. As for the rest of her type, Veronica is a sensor, she’s grounded in reality, realistic, and values trusted methods to solve problems, often cautious to Seth’s Ne fuelled tangents and his novel way of solving problems that opposes her by the book mindset granted by her auxiliary Si. Still, Te is her most pronounced function, but I’m open to debate.
