(canto 8 spoilers! i didn’t read spring cultivation yet though, sorry </3) i assume “so/sx” is due to the so7 votes? however, assuming he’s a so9, his inability to hold his relationships with lin daiyu and jia xichun in the past highlight his sx-blindness— he couldn’t properly “fuse” with either of them (+ xue baochai, xue pan, big huan, etc), so they (all) started resenting and avoiding him for not understanding them (except xue baochai, who was instead infatuated by his surface-level self). jia baoyu did not fault anyone around him for their mistreatment of him, but he never really quelled anyone’s anguish either, as he was a truly slothful individual disillusioned to any possible change he could accomplish. if it means anything, i also believe that hong lu doesn’t really have intense interest in pretty much anything. he’s very curious and open-minded, but even back then, jia baoyu told lin daiyu that he had no favorite game (though iirc it’s implied to be kiting?). his lack of attachment to people and individual things all highlight sx-blindness to me. the closest thing he has to a goal (post-canto 8) is probably living a long and fulfilling life with all of his loved ones (family and friends), which seems far more so-oriented. meanwhile, jia baoyu’s self-isolation post-kong family is highly reminiscent of the sp9’s “appetite”, in which they rarely deviate from their schedules and simply attend to physical/basic needs for satisfaction. however, he lacks the outright irritability of being pulled from his routine, which is why so9 fits him with greater ease. lmk if i got anything wrong! ^^

As such, he has a certain admiration for a free life; but occasionally, he may make ignorant and unsavory questions in regards to the food cooked by a certain other sinner or other aspects of the low-lives' lowly culture. This can cause much irritation for the other sinners. However, it is important to note that no sarcastic undertones are contained in his curiosity-driven inquiries, so it is ill-advised to let them get physical over it.
