Ok, so I thought INTJ at first, but the dark moon arc convinced me otherwise. Astrodude is a plain as day ISFP with how he tends to take in current circumstances and go with what he believes is necessary or right. The cognitive function stack does fit with him. He shows a strong Fi with how a majority of his actions are based on his personal values (His family, his job, his passion for space, and what feels morally right to him), the fact that he tends to take immediate action in tragic situations and tries to come up with solutions along the way shows his Se, his Ni is very noticeable from his origins with his desire to fulfill his dream of becoming an astronaut and wanting to explore space ever since he was young, and the fact that he sometimes fails to see efficient solutions that even his computer has to point it out to him can represent his inferior Te. I like to believe him and SAR are showing an ISFP and ENTJ dynamic thanks to that last episode. SAR definitely shows weak Fi with his disregard towards alternative perspectives. He would even kill a robot if it refuses to side with him, just like he did to Laika. SAR didn't even take into account that Laika didn't want to join him because it valued Cosmo and sees the good sides to humans, and since this doesn't fit with SAR's personal belief that robots are superior over humans and his goal to dominate space exploration with them, he thought that destroying Laika was necessary. Astrodude on the other hand, having a stronger Fi, can easily adapt his personal ethics on to current situations (Fi-Se) and can get an understanding on whether one's actions sound right or wrong to him. He's the same guy who understood where SAR was coming from when he told him about how humans take advantage of nature, and even thought that him and everyone back on Earth may not deserve to colonize another planet because of the way they treat their home planet. SAR is results-driven, focusing on control and efficiency, while Astrodude is value-driven, guided by his personal ethics and emotional understanding. That's a Te vs. Fi dynamic for ya.
