This guy is a textbook SO5. He watches a random vampire eat his sister, then spends the rest of his life idolizing vampires as some sort of divine figured, trying to transcend the human form as much as possible by any means necessary. SO5s create a totem, or a divine otherworldly idea that they look up to, and are willing to make sacrifices to the totem, metaphorically, disregarding the external world and any complications; people, circumstances etc, it's all sacrifices to attain this ideal. Through the story we see this man constantly lie, cheat, commit crimes, stab high schoolers, form a death cult and sacrifice its members by making them cannibalize each other, even sacrificing his own sense of morality simply to chase this vision of becoming supernatural. all of these people, his moral code, all sacrificed to transcend reality.
