Uryū Ishida is best typed as LSI. The interesting part is not that he's intelligent, serious or disciplined. Plenty of types can look like that. What keeps pointing to LSI is what he does with those traits. He builds a definite framework for how things should work, then tries to make reality conform to it. [𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟏] His temperament also looks Rigid-Stable. Uryū's baseline is contained and deliberate rather than restless or constantly outward-moving. Even when he becomes animated he tends to return to the same controlled presentation. The available visual evidence isn't strong enough to make posture or gaze a major argument here, so I wouldn't pretend otherwise. What we can establish behaviorally is a fairly stable pattern of deliberate action followed by a return to his established position. That fits the IJ temperament much better than the shifting activation of EP or the sustained outward drive of EJ. The first real clue is how he handles the Hollow contest. Uryū doesn't simply challenge Ichigo because he wants to win. He establishes a framework first. Quincy versus Shinigami, a defined contest, a measurable result and a demonstration of Quincy superiority. He then creates the conditions himself and assumes he can control the consequences. When the number of Hollows exceeds what he anticipated he doesn't abandon the situation. He fights to contain the danger he helped create and eventually cooperates with Ichigo against the Menos. That is Ti-Se in miniature. The system comes first, then force is used to enforce it. His mistake is revealing too. He doesn't fail because he lacks preparation. He fails because his supposedly controlled structure doesn't account for how large the situation can become. That makes the Ne PoLR hypothesis much more interesting than simply calling him "bad at possibilities." Mayuri is where the LSI case becomes much harder to dismiss. Uryū is paralyzed, learns what happened to Sōken and immediately changes what he is willing to pay. He uses Ransōtengai to force his body to move, removes the Sanrei Glove knowing it will permanently cost him his Quincy powers and defeats Mayuri's Bankai. This isn't just courage. His judgment has reached a point where physical limitation becomes something to overcome rather than a reason to stop. That is exactly the sort of Se the LSI profile describes. He can endure hardship, keep himself under control and escalate when explanation is no longer enough. LII becomes difficult here. An LII can certainly fight when necessary, but Uryū repeatedly demonstrates a willingness to impose himself on the physical situation. Se is not an emergency tool he reluctantly discovers. It is a reliable way he turns his conclusions into action. ILI has a different problem. Uryū certainly investigates, remembers history and eventually operates through a concealed long-term plan. His TYBW investigation into his family and his infiltration of Yhwach's organization show that he can work with this material. Yet the investigation is still aimed at reaching a definite conclusion. Once he has one, he acts. He isn't primarily watching the flow of events and choosing the safest course from a distance. His intuition serves a structure that is already being built rather than supplying the structure itself. The same distinction explains why his intelligence doesn't make him LII or ILI. Uryū's thinking is unusually concrete for an intuitive logical type. He uses equipment, traps, distance, timing and technical procedures. Even his sewing fits the pattern better than it first appears. He has unusually precise manual skill and an eye for design while still treating these abilities as tools rather than making sensory experience the center of his life. That is a very natural fit for demonstrative Si. His relationships give another useful clue. Uryū can be formal and morally rigid, but his actual behavior is less consistent with a Fi-leading type. He initially declares himself opposed to Shinigami yet repeatedly ends up fighting beside them. He accepts Ryūken's restriction and later breaks its literal terms to rescue Orihime. He objects to Mayuri's treatment of Nemu and protects people in concrete situations. His loyalties matter, but they are usually expressed through what he does rather than through prolonged relational analysis. This also weakens ESI. Uryū certainly has principles, but his first instinct is rarely "who is mine and how do I feel about this relationship?" It is closer to "what is correct here, what follows from it and what needs to be done?" His personal attachments can override a rule, but that doesn't make Fi his organizing function.
