Break (解かい Kai?) is a supporting character in Yomi no Tsugai series. They are one half of the tsugai that resides at the border between the realms of the living and the dead, Yomotsu Hirasaka. Currently, they belong to Asa.Break appears to be a thin individual with a vaguely human form. They are draped in white robes down to their feet. They have long, white hair cut in straight, choppy layers, cascading down either shoulders. They have two white horns on either side of their head, but one of the horns appears to be broken. Their face is covered with a white cloth mask bearing the drawing of a single, unblinking right eye. Personality Break appears to be independent and, unlike the rest of the tsugai, does not intend to protect their master. Break seems to be living under a tree rooted in a huge skeleton. They have collected a large library of books stuffed in the roots of the tree. History Break, along with their other half, Seal, are destined to be obtained by the twins and thus control all the tsugai. 400 years ago, Asahi was killed in order to obtain Break's power. Asahi would return to life with the power of Break and would be used by Shomei Higashimura in the Sekihagahara war. Asahi would be killed in said war, leaving Break without a master. Centuries later, Asa would be killed by people from Higashi Village, arriving at Yomotsu Hirasaka and meeting Break. Not wanting to leave her parents and brother alone, Asa would accept the contract, returning to life with Break's power.Skills/Abilities Break: Break allows the user to break anything they point to; it can also break contracts between tsugai and masters. To activate it, the user must make a fist with their hand and then open it. Trivia Right is their antithesis.
