In my personal view, there are only 8 elements that are more important (fire, water, air, earth, thunder, ice, light, dark) and each of them associates with a Dom Function. Se - Thunder(ESTP, ESFP) Se is associated with movement, with the moment, with energy. Thunder represents that very well. it is a spark, an instant. It happens very quick, and when it comes it may come with lots of strength. Si - Earth (ISTJ, ISFJ) Si is associated with the past, with tradition, with memories from past events. Even attachments and loyalties. This suits Earth because the earth is rigid, strong, and keeps us on foot. (Se is the thunder above, Si is the earth below) Ne - Wind (ENFP, ENTP) Ne is associated with imagination, possibilities. Wind suits it nicely since the person is literally flying with imagination in the skies, with no regard with what is below. Ni - Water (INTJ, INFJ) Ni as opposite to Ne, doesn't want to navigate in the imagination, but dive deep into the truth. So instead of flying in the skies like Ne, they dive deep into the deepest bottom of the ocean to find out the real truth. Water suits it nicely. (Ne is the wind above, Ni is the water below) Te - Fire (ESTJ, ENTJ) Te Dom is about dominance, about facts. Fire is the element here since it shows power, dominance. Te people are natural leaders and can show their influence towards others easily. The fire in their type never prevent them to move forward. Ti - Ice (INTP, ISTP) Ti Dom it is the logic with no concern with other's validation. It is the truth for that own person. It is the cold, and rigid knowledge of someone who loves building systems and rules inside their head. Unlike the Te Fire, it isn't as dominant and strong, but it is cold and detached. (Te is Fire, Ti ls Ice) Fe - Light (ENFJ, ESFJ) Fe Dom is about bringing people together. About understanding other's feelings, empathy. Light is the element of choice here, since Fe Doms are the light that bring people together as one. Even the ones who feel isolated and alone, can feel the warm of those with strong Fe, therefore they are the Light that guides these people. Fi - Dark (INFP, ISFP) Fi Dom is the opposite of Fe Dom. If Fe is light, therefore Fi should be dark. Unlike the Fe who brings people together, the Fi is about the person's own rules, feelings, that they do not share with the outside the world. They keep those set of rules and feelings inside them, in the dark, and only a few can get access to. (Fe is Light, Fi is darkness.)
