I'm pretty new to this stuff, but can someone explain why they think Ni and Te? Ni doms, and IxxJs more broadly, operate according to a strong sense of "how things should be." They direct most of their energy outwards, to reorganizing the external world when it deviates from these standards. Cersei (INFJ), Ikaris (ISTJ) and even Arashim (I think INTJ?) are all pretty clear examples of this. “This is how the external world should operate; if it’s not, I’m going to reorder/change things until it’s fixed.” I don’t really get any of that from Thena. Even in more “everyday” uses of Ni - strong and perceptive intuition, drawing broader meaning from instantiated events, keen awareness of how actions and processes will unfold over time - I don’t remember seeing much of that with her. And again with Te, it’s a function that makes value judgments according to empirical standards for the external world. Success, efficiency, and productivity are prioritized. Thena didn’t seem to prioritize this particularly. Maybe part of the problem is that it’s kind of hard to identify what she does value. I don’t remember her saying much at all in the film, her character is very quiet. She’s mostly happy to go along with the bigger plans of the people around her until some kind of internal line is crossed. She follows Ajak and Gilgamesh pretty unproblematically. She goes along with Cersei’s plan in the same way, until the deviant shows up and she prioritizes rushing into action over completing the mission. But because we very rarely see what Thena cares about personally, I think that suggests ISTP over xNTJ. If she doesn’t care about the systems around her or how they are operating, how can she be Te valuing? The few times I remember seeing Thena act on her own desires, I think the TiSe showed pretty strongly. Like I mentioned before, the part that stands out most is when, during the final battle, she prioritizes rushing to take revenge against the deviant over sticking to the plan and holding back Ikaris. She does this without consideration for the consequences; she is nearly killed, and Ikaris escapes and has the opportunity to kill Cersei. This shows Se > Ni and Ti > Te. Subjective valuation > objective results. And again, during the final battle: “You don’t have to fight me” -> “But I’ve always wanted to.” I think this little interaction is a good example of the difference between Ikaris’ Te vs Thena’s TiSe.
