People, stop calling transhumanism evil or inhuman. Transhumanism is the most human, because it is the manifestation of our will to power. Even if you do not want to participate in it, don't cancel it blindly because "it's unethical" or "it makes us less human". Ethics aren't objective, they are a system of particular way of acting in relation to other humans that is most effective in letting society not crumble, this is not a very deep observation which relatively many people can understand. What is moral to you is subjective and to everybody else too. I do not tell you to change your morals if you disagree, I just think that in most cases the disdain towards transhumanism does not come from an intellectual, well-thought-out position and mostly is an impulse, which is also natural and should not always be blamed. As for the question of identity, transhumanism is the highest form of humanity that I am aware of so far. As I said, it is the manifestation of our will to power - to transcend, to surpass, and to dominate. I think it is appropriate to call will to power that which defines humanity. But the main reason I argue for transhumanism is longevity. Existence is the greatest gift the universe gave us. It is prerequisite for all fulfillment and meaning (which by the way has the ego and its desires as its only source, do not confuse this with blind hedonistic egoism, because what I mean is not an excuse to be an ahole, but prioritisation of one's own fulfillment as the meaning to live for, which in fact might suffer from being an ahole). Existence is good a priori and is the highest value one can have (again, being prerequisite for all other values). Thus, all our effort should logically be directed at extending our existence - longevity, or even immortality. There are indeed practical issues with this, like overpopulation, ethical concerns, and increased violence due to augmentation. That is why I think along with transhumanism, some other actions should be taken by humanity. Most importantly the Earth should unite into one civilization, no more different nations, or at least a conglomerate instead of separation, and focus on space expansion. This may allow to solve overpopulation and conflicts, although it naturally isn't that simple, but I am not going to discuss these further now because I am honestly already a little tired of writing this comment lol, plus it is a long discussion better held in person and by a professional and not a high schooler like myself. Anyways, thanks for taking your time to read my opinion on this topic, feel free to point out any inconsistencies, I always welcome objective criticism 🙃
