Admittedly odd, James tells Si stories of his life, with abnormally precise language (Ti-Ne), a well used, large vocabulary (nerd), literally PEPPERED with little literary twists (also Ti-Ne); like that's where he generates the humor and keeps us floating there, in the zone, the whole time. Ti-Ne also enables him to identify the most humorous points of his stories to share. I'm quite sure he's essentially an INTP like me. However, because he doesn't sound like one, lemme explain why he sounds more like an ESFJ (we could call this his channel persona). To newer typists, there are fair questions of "how can we identify or call him introverted if he really 'sounds' like an extrovert?", or "if he's an introvert, then what's his TheOdd1sOut channel persona (which must be extroverted, right?)?" I don't think there are any hard rules, but the convention I've seen is that the biggest celebrity pages are all over the place with types (extreme disagreement), like everyone's typing them by different standards or with different methods, and more quiet pages get more consistent agreements (like this one)... these agreements are basically on what a person appears to be "at their core" or "what they were born as" and anything different about their actual behavior from their "main" type must be explained in some way (to help everyone understand why they are the type claimed). I use the 4 sides of the mind theory to explain these differences in type and behavior. For James, I'd say he's INTP (and awkward and nerdy as expected), but has definitely developed 'extroverted skills', like his great narrator's voice and the ability to really engage people and connect on some kind of emotional level. These are the Fe-Si abilities of an ESFJ. 4 sides theory says that INTP (Ti-Ne-Si-Fe) has an ESFJ (Fe-Si-Ne-Ti) side "in the subconscious side of their mind". So he somehow learned to use his cognitive functions in reverse order and it complements his introverted (INTP) side very well. This developed mental balance is surely a source of his success.
