The Qu are obsessed with forcing their vision onto every living thing they encounter. Their entire project is about aggressively reshaping life to fit their standards. They do not just believe the universe should be better. They feel entitled and obligated to personally make it better. This is SX1 on a cosmic scale. Like the conquistador mentality Naranjo describes, the intensity of their desire becomes its own moral justification. They are not reforming from a distance like an SO1. They are hands on, invasive and violent. They descend on worlds and physically remaking everything they find. Their anger is expressed outward as a crusade rather than turned inward. Their treatment of the Colonials shows this clearly. It is not enough to defeat or contain them. They have to be punished and reshaped for resisting the Qu. SX1's cannot tolerate imperfection or defiance going unpunished. Their perfectionism is also directed outward. They show little of the self critical focus associated with SP1. Instead, they decide what humanity should be and force it into that shape. Their genetic and nanotechnological work feels less like detached engineering and more like an obsessive need to transform life. They frame their destruction as benevolence and their violence as a divine mission. In Chestnut's terms, they are avengers who believe they are saviors.
