it's been interesting to see her suppress her Fi throughout the storyline, which makes her dishonest and fickle. Spoilers ahead: Alex and her have this very comfortable relationship that doesn't really challenge either one to grow and work on their weaknesses. Compared to that, Cole confronts her weaknesses and wants her to be more honest about her desires, which she clearly doesn't want. The end of S2 confirmed what was clearly her struggle: she is dealing with the trauma of losing her family and wants to feel in control. Cole, compared to Alex, actually makes her feel strongly, which overwhelms her. Her desire to be with Alex instead of Cole seems to partly stem from her need for something stable and predictable, while Cole is more unpredictable. Yet she clearly feels more attracted to Cole. Hope she grows and learns from her mistakes in S3 so she can actually develop her Fi and feel safe embracing her stronger emotions and be more honest about them. Also, she's a teenager who experienced a very traumatic event, so it's no surprise she is making mistakes and learning how to handle her emotions and relationships (romantic/platonic). No one's perfect, and she still has time to grow and learn from her mistakes. I believe the show did a great job in showing the downfalls of an ISTJ and how their strengths and weaknesses can affect the people around them, especially when they're dealing with trauma.
