Biographie
In Berber mythology, Anzar personifies rain. He is often called Agellid ugeffur, meaning "the king of rain." A rite known as Tislit bbwenzar ("the bride of Anzar") was dedicated to him in North Africa during periods of drought to bring rain. This custom has been attested in particular in the Atlas Mountains, the Rif Mountains, Kabylia, the Ouarsenis Mountains, and the Aurès Mountains.
