I understand the ESFP comments, but his constant focus on the past and subscription to certain societal norms clearly point to ESFJ. Mind you, he has been through a horrifically traumatizing moment. Still, his Fe comes out in his care and concern for others. When he feels forced to steal food after his initial runaway attempt, he is apologetic. Einar has convictions and morals consistent with his societal upbringing. He hates having to steal and quickly adapts to his new environment. Also, he shows no interest in leaving and exploring the world like you would expect with Se. He is perfectly content to stay with his family on their farm. Einar starts trying to train himself to uphold his family's way of life and live up to his father's standard.
