i think movie patrick is a lot more ambiguous as to whether he's an ESTJ or just an ENTJ dealing with obsessive-compulsive behavior, but i think book patrick is pretty unambiguously an ESTJ. his incredibly meticulous and detailed descriptions of every minute aspect of his life, from his apartment layout to his colleagues' outfits to the grisly details of the murders he commits, seem pretty strongly indicative of high si. also, the descriptions of violence and other terrible acts in the book are over-the-top to the point where it seems incredibly likely that most of it is just an elaborate fantasy on patrick's part. obviously, those fantasies begin to feel more and more real to him as his sanity falls apart, but their presence in the first place could maybe be a sign of repressed tertiary ne coming out. just some thoughts.
