An 8 core probably wouldn't resolve not to tell his gang what happened under the map (since WHEN would an E8 deceive someone specifically to keep their peace), and i also have a hard time believing an 8 would be that bothered by not being able to remember the face of their own mother (that being, the primary attachment figure of his life).
