Brunhilda was queen consort of Austrasia, by marriage to the Merovingian king Sigebert I of Austrasia. Her bitter feud with Fredegund, mistress of Chilperic I of Neustria, who murdered his sister Galswintha, lasted until Fredegund's death in 597.
