His Fe serves his Ni, not the other way around. He's primarily interested in his own scheme, and he uses his Fe as a tool to that end -- Fe is not his ego, his centre of government. That's Ni. I suspect that the reason that Dominique is the only person who truly understands him is because she is also Ni dom. Dominique grasps instinctively that Toohey is really aiming at nothing less than world domination by writing trashy articles about architecture for a pulpy gazette. Both the scheme and the recognition of it require so much Ni as to fly way over the head of Ni-aux Wynand.
