hes literally the most e8 coded character ive ever seen... how do people even type him as e3 when he cares more about his autonomy rather than his image dude?? that one scene of those 3 guys who was from his highschool was a dead give away. he does seem like a rather unhealthy e3/e3 constantly disintegrating when he realized he has done nothing to actually make a better economic and financial change in that one chapter in his spin off manga, but i'd say he has a strong 3 fix rather than being an e3. he was constantly ridiculed and underestimated by his peers in a way hes more hurt on his lack of autonomy rather than his image, so i think him being an e8 with 3 fix makes much more sense. i also think simply labeling him as an e3 is watering him down to a guy who always tries to be good for the sake of his image, when in reality hes more of a characterization of a young adult whose worth is revolved around his achievements and tries to hide his insecurities because of being constantly underestimated, and looked down upon. so as his "shield", he tries to be the best and stand above all people to avoid feeling little and vulnerable. i'd also like to add that its implied he was likely lonely and didnt have any friends/his parents were somewhat distant or neglected him in chapter 41. edit: the more i read the spinoff manga the more i think ichijou is actually an e8 ngl
