Biografie
Deuteronomy (Ancient Greek: Δευτερονόμιον, romanized: Deuteronómion, lit. 'second law'; Latin: Liber Deuteronomii) is the fifth book of the Torah (in Judaism), where it is called Devarim (Biblical Hebrew: דְּבָרִים, romanized: Dəḇārīm, lit. '[the] words [of Moses]') and the fifth book of the Hebrew Bible and Christian Old Testament. It contains the speeches that Moses gave to the Israelites before they entered the Promised Land, reminding them of the Covenant made with God at Mount Sinai. The covenantal laws are central to the book, alongside moral and social laws, as well as laws pertaining to the Levitical priesthood.
