just finished episode 5 and sobbed through all of it. she is such a tragic character. she was in so much pain, haunted by her past and no one saw how much she was going through. she grew up being misunderstood and unseen. she was always very sensitive and emotional. but she didn't want to be a burden, so she often hid her pain. but that ended up hurting her even more, because she realized that no one really cared about her. she's a very melancholic character, but also sweet and cares a lot about her family. she's very family oriented, although she feels kind of out of place in her own family.

Eleanor "Nell" Vance (née Crain), born February 21, 1986, was the youngest child and third daughter of Hugh and Olivia Crain, younger sister of Steven, Shirley, and Theodora Crain, and younger twin sister of Luke Crain. Nell struggled during her childhood at Hill House with frequent sights of the Bent-Neck Lady. These sightings caused distress for the Crain family, who dismissed them as figments of Nell's imagination.
