What personality type is Qiao Ling? Qiao Ling is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - SO9 - 371 in Enneagram, in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.
I’m not convinced that she’s ESTJ or 3w2. actually fe dom is quite certain. i dont elaborate deeply on this but as far as basic reasons go [minor s2 spoilers below the cut] • qiao ling easily identifies and assimilates into whatever social role is appropriate to a given situation. - in the comfort of the photo studio, her demeanor is like an assertive older sister; to the police, she is non-threatening and politely dismissive; to a grieving family member or friend, she’s sympathetic and gentle.. and so on. she effortlessly grasps what others need and expect of her—when deviating from that expectation, it is deliberate and meaningful. - she’s also great at identifying these in others. i especially emphasize her ease with reading lu guang’s behavior and motivations, but her conversation with xu shanshan also shed light on a degree of insight that she generally doesn’t share with the rest of the trio. also, in season 2, she immediately notices that cheng xiaoshi is afraid to trust her (lest she come under possession) and assures him before he begins spiraling. + this attention and orientation towards group values isn’t necessarily the same as “niceness” or warmth. generally, the viewer is experiencing her interactions with cheng xiaoshi and lu guang, for whom her mildly prickly attitude is commonplace and important to their dynamic. • on this topic, her critical temperament is generally directed towards etiquette and politeness instead of logic. - ..in fact, she’s pretty much laid back in this regard, an extent to which she doesn’t much question how cxs and lg solve cases, nor the existence of their supernatural abilities after she‘s informed of them. contrast with the seriousness with which she approaches cheng xiaoshi’s rudeness towards xu shanshan + i stray from the point slightly, what i get from this is essentially that qiao ling, who is clever but not particularly concerned with the explanation or mechanisms behind cxs and lg’s work, is easily deceived or at least kept oblivious in this sense. that in mind, she can easily deduce information gathered *socially* and make accurate statements about others’ thoughts and values. she is more likely to have inf Ti > Fi — [ edit 8/15/23: i have deleted the enneagram portion of this post. i’m very uncertain about this part! miss qiao ling is very challenging in this respect, and i hope that as season 2 continues it will become more obvious ] ESFJ vs ENFJ + enneagram is troublesome so input/discussion is appreciated on those. ty
