Personality

What personality type is Johnny Storm “Human Torch”? Johnny Storm “Human Torch” is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - sx/sp - 278 in Enneagram, SCUEN in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.

To the large amount of ENFP votes, a rebuttal. Ne-dom operates by branching outwards endlessly to concepts, ideas, and modes of thinking thar aren't of direct relevance to what is being directly observed in immediate reality. Spiraling to different modes of thinking and flipping between different perspectives, jump to different modes of though constantly and prospecting connects between an object of focus and other potential objects. It's meandering, and tangential in nature. Johnny isn't at all like this, his processing of immediate reality is just that: in the moment. Direct, concrete, material, relevant, and straightforward. He perceives and engages in the world as it is and is most in his element when he is working off the cuff with all of the elements around him being directly interacted with and utilized in accordance with his whims. Johnny is hungry while waiting at dinner -> he grabs cereal, Johnny sees danger -> he jumps straight at it, Johnny sees a s3xy alien -> He wants to charm her up, Johnny sees a plan fail -> he leaps to sacrifice, and so on. His world is one of direct relevance and interaction with external reality, constant opportunism, and innate adaptability. Moreover, when tying this into the opposing perceiving functions of Ne and Se, the functions of Si and Ni, we get an even more clear dynamic. Jonny leads with Se-dom but well developed Ni, and we see him taking in his direct observations and unconsciously apply them to deciphering the dissonant auditory information that turns out to be an alien language. This demonstrating a Se-Ni axis. No as for the ESFP voters, my reply. To start, solving puzzles doesn't mean Ti and Fi is more complex then asking in the moment "what feels right or wrong". They're subjective systems of rationalizing ones thoughts and decisions. In Johnny's case, at no point does he portray having an internal framework of logical consistency like Ti-dom Reed, which as a supposed Ti-aux user should be observable. Instead, Johnny is the a person who is all about personal sentimentality and authenticity. As the only non-Fe user of the family he sticks out like a sore thumb, not focused on adhering to the social conventions, traditions, and harmony of the group. Such as casually eating breakfast at the allotted dinner time, trying to get the team to wear their space suits (often pestering Reed about it), often wanting Ben to say "it's clobbering time". All during inconvenient periods. He encourages aesthetics he deems valuable and is honest without filter, like referring to Silver Surfer as "the sexy alien" while actively fighting her. Much demonstrated Se-Fi. Furthermore, he engages with Silver Surfer by trying to appeal to her internal sentiment. While everyone else simply views her as an enemy to the group (Fe), Johnny tries affect her personally by making her feel guilty for the suffering she has caused, attacking her ethos to break away from loyalty to Galactus (Fi). Moreover, his usage of detached is very utilitarian and to the point, operating on simply on workable solutions (Te) rather than internal logical consistency. All and all, I'd say that Johnny is a pretty clear ESFP, and a very good adaptation of the comic book version.
