Time for the typing Take down, it's gonna be long, but clear-cut like Rumi's blade and will hopefully clear up some confusion with it. 안녕하십니까 ;) Kind Disclaimer: I do not promote the use of cognitive functions through zodiac form labeling, nor examine arguments that disregard Jungian principles. Cognitive functions are their expansion, focusing on CONSCIOUS prioritisations, not subconscious. [More on my updated post.] 1/2 First fellow demon hunters, Before moving to the ENFJ arguments and breaking down the ENTJ ones, I want to point out that the use of MBTI differs very much so, if we use MBTI to understand people OR MBTI as ANOTHER TOOL to understand features about people, in a more complex and analytical way and even that has its own limits. The first way lacks depth and completely dismisses the advantages of MBTI, highlighting it as another display of the Barnum effect. However, the reason MBTI can be useful is precisely because its Jungian roots (details - > updated analysis). Now that we've cleared this up, no one is a type because this type is this and that, actions don't make someone's character, BUT their character creates certain actions and drives them. Rumi's core lies in her drive, as everyone else's. Her drive is indeed internal and her whole journey is about embracing her true and whole identity, something that she has never been able to do since she got conditioned to suppress her own core and uniqueness, as deviant, demonic, and inherently undeserving and incapable of being loved. She is not searching for control, but agency which is evidently different. Hence, the scene where she exposes her caretaker's lies, that conforming and distorting your soul is not love and thereby demands an answer, that she will soon give herself. Rumi creates her own way to love by finally loving herself, a love that saved everyone and was never taught to her by anyone. It's not random that her culmination at the end and Huntrx's final song is about releasing and transcending the ultimate way we come together, by fully expressing our soul. The whole movie is literally about embracing herFeself, suppressing makes her insecure, vulnerable to self-hate and doubt. She loses her voice because her internal core can't be fooled by her attachment to Celine's conditioning. She knows that not accepting her own existence and living by the standards set by others, suffocate her. That's why she so easily exchanges her false idea of control for a chance to a perspective that will break her free (Ni filtered through Fe [Jungian definition]). Her Fe-Ni axis gives a chance to Jinu (emotional drive) and trust so easily, desiring to change him, to prove that demons are not inherently vile. Rumi wants to show that definitions do not define people, but their soul. (Fan booth: Jinu everybody!) Aren't you all surprised why she hates takedown as a song, because it doesn't align with her Fe, she knows actions driven by hate are dangerous. The reason she has been fighting demons and ultimately going against her own acceptance, it's because she truly believes in social harmony (belief influence) . She protects others by using her strengths to fight demons and separately hiding her truth from Mira and Zoey. She thinks that's how they will be safe. Yes, she got there by self-undermining and thus failed (ENFJ weakness point, emotional self-sacrifice). Yet, even with all that misalignment with herself, the way she views the world doesn't change, she wants to protect, to love, all the things she was never given, are a no question to be given to others. At the end, she decides against lounging on the couch, because she is driven and inspired by the love she sees by Huntrx's fans. She is not a Thinking user and definitely not a Te, especially if we look closely to how she contrasts with Mira's character and Ti (slash demon moment). Rumi's character model was written to match the Pop genre she represents as emotionally expressive and vibrantly powerful. The writing holds some grey non developed areas. However, that doesn't make her ENTJ. ENTJs and ENFJs are vastly different, in fact evident polar opposites Te/Fe. The things they both prioritize are clashing and contrasting. If we had a debate about her being an ENFJ or an INFJ that would be more fitting, but the ENTJ vs ENFJ proves that there is a big gap of understanding NF types. ENTJs adore social order only if they benefit from it, conform to the point they hold the reign of this choice, they don't prioritize Te by accident, they chose this response to oppressive experiences. It defines them by choice, ENFJs on the contrary struggle with the emotional toll of trauma but chose to remain loyal to their emotional compass. Rumi's character's development falls on that, she indeed desires to express everything even if it is delayed by the circumstances or held inside. She found her voice, because she expressed her emotions to someone and becomes omnipotent because of that. ----->
