Vincent Brooks MBTI Personality Type
Personality
What personality type is Vincent Brooks? Vincent Brooks is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/sx - 692 in Enneagram, RLUAN in Big 5, SEI in Socionics.
Vincent is an INFP 6w5 in a Fi-Si loop. Vincent may not know what he wants, but indecision can happen to everyone and I don't think it's always definite proof of a certain function. I do think they went about it in a mixed way by making Catherine such a sociopath, but whatever. To counter an argument that Vincent doesn't know what he wants because he lacks Fi, that's not entirely true. Vincent understands quite a lot about himself, he just has trouble expressing it to his girlfriends. With his friends and Rin, Vincent is more honest with them, often venting to them about how he feels overwhelmed and stifled by Katherine's desires to settle down. While he does uses Fe, I don't think he uses it nearly as much as his Fi. And I'm not seeing Ti as much as his other functions. Ti is a more analytical logic function, which he doesn't show through his lies. His lies being often shallow due to his inferior Te and jumping to conclusions Ni. Fi users can show altruism as well and they can be people-pleasers if they feel it would benefit themselves. I even see Ne a bit more than Ti, coming up with creative ways to solve puzzles, creative insults "I think someone on Mars didn't quite hear you", his interest in the adventurous Rin and Catherine, and having a bunch of coding books for his occupation. While it is complicated why Vincent doesn't want to be honest with the girls, I don't think I recall it was ever concrete that it was rooted out of a need to protect their feelings, rather it was rooted out of codependency and a need to protect his own feelings. In the beginning of the game, Vincent complains that his one night stand will cause Katherine to "kill" him. When Catherine threatens to kill him or she'll die, Vincent hesitates. He doesn't want her to die, but he also doesn't want her to hurt him. When Katherine breaks up with him, Vincent begs her to stay and constantly tries calling her. Vincent is at the age where he probably would use a lot of Si, so using Si a lot makes sense. It also makes even more sense when you realize that he's in a Fi-Si loop. As he dwells on the guilt of his cheating, trying to find out if keeping Catherine around really is the right thing, and being stuck in his comfort zone due to neglecting a lot of Ne. Also because of Fi, Vincent is often introspective and wonders constantly about what's right and wrong and what to do with his life. Vincent's morals doesn't seem to come from society's morals as he often ignores what society says. He also gets oversensitive when people call him out on his wrongdoings, despite realizing them himself. "Why live a life without doing what you want? That's just a recipe for a life of misery." "Rin likes me for who I am, without any big societal expectations." This is just me rambling, but these versions of Vincent is who I think Vincent really is. He doesn't know what he wants, but he seems to clash with both girls, as they represent two extreme opposite sides of the spectrum. Katherine is too uptight and Catherine is too chaotic. Vincent throughout the game demonstrates that he has his issues with both girls, but often lies in order to keep them in his life, seeing potential in both of them. Rin being the only "girl" who he feels safe around because he doesn't push him in either direction. As for the 7 wing, I don't get any 7 vibes from Vincent. It may seem that way because of his cheating and crush on the fun-loving Catherine, but he really doesn't exhibit any 7 vibes unless you go certain routes. Vincent doesn't really care about having fun or partying. He drinks in order to socialize with his pals and drown out his sorrows and anxieties. He clearly feels bad for his cheating, says he doesn't want to sleep around, preferring to keep his monotone life, and hesitates on choosing Catherine over Katherine.
