Dr. Marius Fischer aka The Baron is the main antagonist in Dying Light: The Beast. He is highly intelligent, but cruel leader with a deceptive and power-hungry attitude, influenced by his ambitions and family's history of unethical experimentation. He is a cold-hearted scientist and CEO who believes his acts are justified by his objectives, which include commanding a large army and exploiting the Harran Virus. Following the Fall, he used his huge personal resources to conquer and enslave a town called Castor Woods in order to continue his THV experiments, kidnapping a number of people as lab rats, including Kyle Crane. He also assembled a large army of mercenaries to safeguard his assets and operations. Many Castor Woods residents were enslaved as forced laborers or subjects in experiments.
